Child Mindfulness Classes
Children of all ages can benefit from mindfulness – the simple practice that encourages a gentle, compassionate, and accepting approach to life. Habits formed in childhood often determine behavior patterns as an adult, so giving your child the opportunity to embrace mindfulness at a young age offers life-long benefits.
What is Mindfulness?
“Mindfulness is the intentional cultivation of moment-to-moment attention and awareness. This awareness encompasses the following: the breath, the body, emotions, thoughts, and five senses, as well as our actions, and how they affect ourselves and others in a non-creative and non-judgmental way.” — Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph.D.
How can mindfulness help my child?
Improves focus and helps children find quietness and joy in their inner world.
Helps children self-regulate and increases their capacity to cope with all that is tossed into their world.
Promotes self-awareness, empathy, and compassion towards others.
Teaches children to live in the present moment, so that they can savor the good times and better manage the trying ones.
Promotes human connection by building a child’s sense of self-love and worth.
Minimizes anxiety and increases happiness.
